The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called YAYI, has met with Bishops of the Anglican Communion in Sagamu, assuring them of his commitment to purposeful, inclusive and people-centred governance if elected Governor in 2027.
The meeting, held at the Bishop’s Court in Sagamu, provided an opportunity for the Anglican leaders to share their expectations for the next administration, particularly in the areas of security, education, healthcare, skills development and empowerment, equitable distribution of development, good governance and the welfare of religious organisations.
In a welcome address delivered by the Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Dr. Michael Olusina Fape, the bishops urged Adeola to remain a leader for all, irrespective of religious, ethnic or geographical differences. They also called for development to reach rural and remote communities alongside the urban centres of the state.
Responding, Adeola assured the bishops that, if given the mandate in 2027, he would work diligently to deliver an administration that meets the expectations of the people. He pointed to his record of representation and developmental interventions as a Senator as an indication of his capacity and commitment to public service.
The APC governorship candidate also spoke about his ITESIWAJU Agenda, explaining that its pillars would provide the framework for sustaining existing development while expanding opportunities and improving the quality of life of residents across Ogun State.
Adeola thanked the bishops for their prayers, counsel and warm reception, assuring them that his administration would promote religious harmony and work closely with faith-based institutions. He further pledged that he would not let the Body of Christ down if entrusted with the leadership of the state.
