…as APC gov flagbearer predicts victory for party’s candidates
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, on Wednesday, held an inter-faith prayer and praise programme for victory for President Bola Tinubu; its Ogun State governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi; Governor Dapo Abiodun and other APC candidates during the forthcoming polls.

The spiritual session tagged, “Interfaith Prayer and Praise: Victory with God,” was held at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The spiritual session brought together APC leaders, party members, Christian and Muslim clerics, supporters and religious artistes for prayers, praise and thanksgiving for the Nigerian nation and the ruling party’s candidates at the Federal and state levels.
The event was organised to seek divine guidance and commit preparations for the 2027 elections into the hands of God, as prayers were offered for President Tinubu, Senator Adeola, Governor Abiodun and other APC candidates contesting National Assembly and Ogun State House of Assembly seats.
The spiritual event, hosted by the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, had Governor Abiodun as the Chief Host and former governor Olusegun Osoba as Special Guest of Honour.
The well-attended event featured performances and praise renditions by Christian and Islamic artistes, including Beejay Sax, Laolu Gbenjo, Tope Alabi, Lilian Nneji, Toluwasings, Soaty Arewa, Yusuf Olotu and Ahmed Alawiye Alalubarika, among many others.
In his speech on the occasion, Governor Abiodun said the event represented an effort to put God first and commit the journey towards the 2027 elections into His hands.

Abiodun, who is also the APC candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District in 2027, stressed that there must unceasing prayers for peace, stability and development in Ogun State and Nigeria.
Others, who spoke at the event, also urged APC members to remain united and committed to the party while maintaining peaceful engagement with political opponents and other stakeholders.
On his part, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Adeola, predicted outright victory for the party’s candidates in Ogun and at the Federal level during next year’s elections, saying this is achievable since the party had handed over its 2027 political journey to God.
Yayi took a swipe at also the opposition, describing them as “partyless,” now “running helter-skelter” to save itself from disgrace, stressing that APC would emerge victorious.

Other APC stalwarts at the event were former governor Olusegun Osoba; Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi; Director-General of the Ogun APC Campaign Council, Senator Lekan Mustapha and other party leaders.
Christian and Muslim clerics also featured prominently during the spiritual programme, praying for the nation, the state and the APC candidates.
