Governor Dapo Abiodun and the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun State have declared the Senator currently representing Ogun West in the National Assembly, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, as the party’s consensus governorship candidate in the 2027 general elections.
Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, was unanimously announced as the consensus governorship candidate of the APC in Ogun State at the ongoing APC Strategic Caucus Meeting.
The meeting is being attended by key stakeholders, party leaders, and former governors.
Extensive deliberations on the future of the party in the state is the key agenda of the meeting.
Governor Abiodun, while addressing the meeting, disclosed that after serious consultations with former governors and leaders of the APC in the state, a collective decision was reached regarding its consensus governorship candidate in the interest of unity and progress of the party and the state.
According to him, “In serious deliberation with former governors and leaders of our great party, we have resolved that our next flag bearer for the next political dispensation in Ogun State is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.”
He noted that the consensus decision reflects the party’s commitment to cohesion, continuity, and strategic leadership as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship election.
APC leaders who attended the strategic meeting expressed confidence in Senator Adeola’s capability, experience, and dedication to delivering impactful governance and consolidating on the developmental strides recorded in Ogun State.
Also, the ruling APC in Ogun State reaffirmed its unity and readiness to work collectively toward ensuring victory at the 2027 elections.
