Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress will record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Barau, who expressed strong confidence in President Tinubu and the ruling APC, said the administration’s performance and growing unity within the ruling party were enough to secure another four-year term for the President.
He stated this while speaking at the APC Northwest Zonal meeting convened by the Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani at the weekend.
Barau urged all APC members to maintain unity and continue to support President Tinubu to ensure continued progress and another electoral success in the 2027 general elections.
The Deputy Senate President said, “It is clear that in 2027, we are going to have a landslide victory, Insha’Allah.
“Let us keep cooperating with one another, support the President, and remain united so we can achieve our goals.”
On the recent development in the nation’s political scene, Barau attributed the recent wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC to President Tinubu’s efforts in tackling Nigeria’s security and economic challenges.
He added, “The influx of opposition figures into our party is not by accident. It’s the result of President Tinubu’s leadership and the visible progress he’s making.
“Security in the Northwest has significantly improved. Places that were once no-go areas, like Birnin Gwari and parts of the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, are now accessible.”
He noted that though Nigeria had not got to where it should be, ongoing reforms and projects are positive indications that the Tinubu-led administration is on the right path.
“It’s a work in progress. The president is working tirelessly to solve the challenges facing the nation, particularly insecurity in the North,” he said.
Barau also commended APC Governors for their dedication to grassroots development, noting their role in strengthening the ruling party’s influence.
He also praised the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for steering the party toward unity and growth, urging leaders and members not to relent in collaborating for the good of the APC and Nigeria.
Barau added, “With our growing strength and the momentum we’ve gained, it feels like there’s no other political party in the country — especially in the Northwest.
“Let’s remain focused, united, and committed so we can deliver a resounding victory come 2027.”
