African Democratic Congress(ADC) says it is forming a coalition of groups, parties, organisations and individuals across the 36 states of the Federation to take over the reins power from the rulling All Progressive Congress(APC) and main opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) across the country come 2027 elections.
The ADC Chairman in Ogun, Otunba Femi Soluade made this known on Wednesday shortly after a stakeholders meeting held at the party’s secretariat at Itoko, Abeokuta, as he tagged the coalition a “Political Tsunami.”
Soluade said that the meeting was a grassroots movement which follows the directive of the National Secretariat of the party and is being held in all the 36 States of the country including Abuja inorder for the party to take charge of leadership at the Local government, state and federal level.
He said that the coalition was to ensure that the party take over power from the ruling APC and PDP in some states so as to save the country from hunger, insecurity, inflation, economic hardship among others, insisting that the party remains the only to save Nigeria from imminent collapses.
The Chairman said that ADC would carry members along in its grassroots presence and deepen coalition integration ahead of the 2027 general elections, while calling on defectors from other political parties and well meaning Nigerians to come together and join the party to save the country from APC rulership.
“Today”s meeting is a fall out from the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Our great Party and is backed by the National Working Committee (NWC), with the aim of bringing together political parties, civil society organizations, labour unions, and well-meaning patriots who have consistently demonstrated interest in joining forces with ADC’s coalition framework.
“The idea is to take the vision, mission, and rescue agenda of ADC and its partners to the people, where it truly belongs,” he said.
Earlier, an ADC Chieftain Rasaq Eyiowuawi thanked ADC leadership for the pact, saying that the coalition will help in the bid of the Party to be a formidable alternative to the misgovernment of APC.
He charged all members of the coalition to see the movement as a gathering of equals, and worked together to achieve the aims it was formed.
“Let every member spread the gospel to all nooks and crannies of the State and adopt Jehovah Witness approach in wooing electorates to see a better alternative and join forces in repositioning the Country.
