North Korea’s president, Kim Jong Un, has described America as a terrorist state and perpetrator of state terrorism.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, KCNA, Kim said this on Monday while wrapping up a session of the country’s parliament.
KCNA reported that Kim is still prepared to respond if the nation’s adversaries choose peaceful coexistence, while reiterating that Pyongyang will continue to build nuclear weapons.
“The United States is a terrorist state,” Kim said.
KCNA said the two-day Supreme People’s Assembly, SPA, session passed a resolution on multiple constitutional revisions, but it only revealed one detail — the removal of the word “socialist” from “Socialist Constitution.”
The resolution did not specify whether the revisions enshrined broader anti-South Korea policies as Kim previously demanded.
State media coverage on Tuesday morning was largely focused on domestic ideological and economic issues, with Kim calling for transforming the Ministry of Social Security into the country’s first proper “police” force in a lengthy speech.
