Senate, on Tuesday, recalled Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi from suspension. Ningi, who represents Bauchi central was suspended on March 12, 2024, for accusing the Senate of budget padding. The lawmaker was recalled two weeks to the end of his three-month suspension. It is supposed to terminate on June 12, 2024. Officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) who are on mission in different countries abroad have lamented the non-payment of their allowances since December last year. The officers lamented their ordeal while speaking anonymously with Daily Trust. One of the affected officers said the allowances of October and November 2023 were paid in March this year.
