•To headline Solteque/Canada Trade Mission ’24

Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited has taken its investment drive to Canada as part of the efforts to attract more Diaspora investors back home.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, who spoke with newsmen at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada, on Saturday, is expected to showcase the firm’s novel range of estate products at this year’s edition of Solteque “Canada Trade Mission 2024.”

He will also guide the investors on the salient indexes, bubble traps and pitfalls to watch out for in Nigeria’s real estate sector.

Adeyemo said the essence was to encourage more Diasporans and the Nigerian government to engage in purpose-driven remittance by way of foreign and non-oil investment, in a bid to help create wealth, job opportunities, bridge the widening housing deficit, while strengthening the nation’s foreign exchange and building solid retirement plans back home for the Diasporans.

The Pelican Valley CEO, who was received by a Canadian Parliamentary aide, Mr. Akin Oduntan and Chairman/CEO of Solteque Incorporation, Canada, High Chief, Olawale Olaleye, said the Trade Mission, an initiative of Solteque incorporation, would help his firm consolidate on the gains of similar mission undertaken last December in the United Kingdom, tagged, “Avenue Impact Winter Ball” where he offered thought-provoking insight into the opportunities and pitfalls in the Nigerian local real estate investment.

Dr Adeyemo, having identified some Diaspora investors, their massive investments in Nigeria as well as their respective values and returns on investment, also shared the news of his re-invitation to London to grace this year’s edition of the London Avenue Impact Winter ball.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the Nigerians in Canadia will also toe the path of their London counterparts, after receiving the heavy dose of the real estate digest we are bringing to the table. I want to use the occasion to congratulate our audience in advance,” Dr. Adeyemo said.

Already, participants and visitors of the trade mission are full of optimism about the huge potential for economic growth, trade and investment opportunities the initiative will bring.

The trade mission, scheduled for September 30th to October 4th, 2024, will hold at Emerald Banquet Hall 55 Guided Court Etobicoke, Ontario and will feature the making and exhibition of local fabrics and design, artisan works, snacks/food and real estate.

The Canadian Legislative aide, Mr Oduntan, who is enthusiastic about the move, said Nigerians living abroad would once again reconnect with their heritage while exploring the immense potentials of investing back home.

According to him, participants can immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of Nigerian culture while discovering how they can contribute to and benefit from Nigeria’s economic resurgence.

“At the heart of this mission is Pelican Valley Nigeria, which will present exciting real estate investment opportunities tailored for the Nigerians in diaspora. With Nigeria’s real estate market on the rise, participants will gain valuable insights into property investments that promise significant returns.

“Pelican Valley’s knowledgeable team will provide guidance on navigating the market, highlighting key areas for growth and development. This is an excellent chance for diaspora Nigerians to invest in their homeland, plan for retirement and secure their financial future.

“The Canada Trade Mission stands as a unique bridge between cultures and economies, fostering a spirit of collaboration and investment. By attending this exhibition, Nigerians in the diaspora can use the opportunity to strengthen their ties to their roots while making informed decisions that benefit both themselves and their communities. It is going to be an exciting journey of cultural celebration and economic empowerment,” Oduntan noted.

Also speaking to the media, the convener, Chief Olaleye said the event is going to be a vibrant platform for Nigeria, particularly the South-West geopolitical zone to unlock significant economic opportunities for the region.

Chief Olawale, who is the CEO of Solteque Group, said the initiative would feature a rich exhibition of traditional fabrics, indigenous mouth-watering cuisine, and promising real estate ventures, all designed to foster trade relationships and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Canada.

“As South-West Nigeria showcases its unique cultural heritage, it aims to attract Canadian investors and stakeholders eager to explore the region’s potential. The exhibition, as outlined by the convener will highlight the intricate artistry of South-West Nigeria’s textile makers, presenting fabrics that embody the rich traditions and craftsmanship of the region.

“By introducing these exquisite products to the Canadian market, the mission seeks to stimulate demand and appreciation for Nigerian textiles, creating new avenues for artisans and local businesses. Coupled with a showcase of traditional Nigerian dishes, the event will also engage culinary enthusiasts, opening doors for food exporters and promoting the region’s culinary diversity.

“Real estate opportunities will take the spotlight as well, with discussions aimed at fostering investment in housing and infrastructure development. The expected collaboration could lead to transformative projects that enhance urban living in South-West Nigeria while providing Canadian investors with lucrative prospects.

“So, the Canada Trade Mission stands as a vital opportunity for our region back home to enhance its global footprint, attract meaningful investments, and celebrate its rich cultural heritage on an international stage,” Olaleye said.
