…commends Gov Abiodun for laying solid economic foundation for State
Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the 2027 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, has stated that in a few years time Ogun State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) may jump to N100billion following the solid foundation laid by the incumbent APC administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the last seven and a half years and a faithful implementation of his incoming government’s 9-Pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda.

Speaking at the continuation of his statewide stakeholders town hall meeting at Ikenne Local Government, the Senator said that Ogun State was on the verge of becoming an oil-producing state with a $7 billion Deep Sea Port coming on stream in 2029, adding that in addition to the Gateway International Cargo Airport and two inland dry ports, all courtesy of Governor Abiodun’s administration, Ogun State is set for future economic growth that will rival, if not surpass that of Lagos State.
This was stated in a statement, on Thursday, by Senator Adeola’s Media Adviser and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, High Chief Kayode Odunaro.

While calling for support and voting for Prince Abiodun as Senator to represent Ogun East in 2027, Senator Adeola said that the governor had laid a solid foundation for future prosperity of Ogun State, stressing that if he is elected as his successor he will be the beneficiary of the legacies laid by the incumbent administration.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun is laying a foundation for me that no governor coming after me will not pray for. Ogun State is about to become an oil-producing state courtesy of Governor Abiodun. Just last week, a $7 billion deep seaport like that of Apapa Port in Lagos was signed by the governor to be sited in Ogun Waterside. By 2029, that port will become functional,” he said.
The Ogun West Senator and APC governorship flagbearer said with the foundation laid and the synergy between him and the governor and an APC-led Federal Government, Ogun State’s economic growth and prosperity is guaranteed.
Adeola acknowledged that no administration could accomplish everything within its tenure but maintained that Abiodun had performed creditably, adding that his 9-Pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda is targeted at building on the solid foundation laid by Governor Abiodun and introducing new initiatives.
The APC flagbearer therefore called on the people of Ogun East Senatorial District to support Abiodun’s political ambition, insisting that the governor remained the most suitable candidate to represent the district at the Senate.
He argued that the people of the district should not entrust their representation to a stranger, particularly given Abiodun’s contributions to the development of the state and Ogun East.

On his governorship ambition, Senator Yayi appealed to the people of Ikenne and other communities in Remoland to reciprocate the political support previously extended to Abiodun by the Yewa people.
He recalled that the Yewa people supported Abiodun’s re-election bid in 2023, urging the Remo people to extend similar support to him in his quest to succeed the governor.
“The Yewa have never betrayed the Remo. We ensured that the governor won his second-term ticket, and he won. So, I am here today to solicit your support to reciprocate the gesture we have shown to Governor Abiodun by supporting me to become the next governor of Ogun State,” he said.
Yayi promised to address areas where the current administration might not have met the expectations of residents, assuring that his government would deliver inclusive governance.
He urged the people of Ikenne to support his candidacy in the interest of unity and the continued development of the state, promising to sustain ongoing projects and build on the achievements of the Abiodun administration.
According to him, Ogun State is poised to witness a smooth transition of power for the first time, warning that a successor who does not understand the efforts and challenges behind the current administration’s achievements could undermine its progression.
Earlier on, Oba Joseph Obafemi Saliu, the Ologere of Ogere, while supporting the aspiration of Senator Adeola to be the next governor, said that you can assess what is going to happen tomorrow from what is done today, stressing that even without their requests, the senator had done some development projects in Ikenne LGA in the area of road construction, hospital and solar lights, among other projects.
The royal father, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers and Baales, said they have faith in the Senator doing the right thing for Ikenne as governor, stressing that even while not representing them as a senator, he had delivered developmental projects for them.
The event had in attendance representatives of over 30 groups, including CDAs , CDCs, Baales, CAN, League of Imams, NULGE, NUT and other voluntary groups.
The Senator was in company with his wife, Chief Mrs Temitope Adeola; APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; the Director-General of APC Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Senator Lekan Mustapha; the deputy DG(Political ) APC Campaign Council, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu; Hon. Kayode Oladele, Ogun State Commissioner, Federal Character Commission and Dr. Samuel Adejare, the APC Campaign Council secretary.
