The announcement of a ₦20 million donation by Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun emerged as a major highlight of the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 General Election Campaign Council for Abeokuta South Federal and State Constituencies, held at Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.

The declaration, which was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from party faithful, added a remarkable moment to the gathering of APC leaders, elders, political stakeholders, aspirants and supporters assembled to inaugurate the campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Amosun, the Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), was inaugurated as the Deputy Director General of the campaign council.
His announcement of financial support drew enthusiastic applause from party faithful, leaders and supporters, particularly members of the AK Amosun Political Movement, adding a significant moment to the gathering as the APC commenced another phase of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration had earlier witnessed the strong presence of the AK Amosun Political Movement, whose members brought considerable energy to the gathering. Their songs and cheers became particularly pronounced whenever the name of Hon. Amosun was mentioned, making the movement a noticeable presence at the event.
Beyond the excitement, the ₦20 million pledge represented a financial commitment towards supporting the campaign council’s activities.
According to the remarks attributed to Amosun at the gathering, the intervention was intended to strengthen mobilisation, coordination and grassroots engagement as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
He reportedly described his appointment as a call to greater service and collective responsibility, urging party members to work together across wards and polling units while assuring the council of further support as preparations progress.
The event also provided an opportunity for aspirants seeking various elective positions to be presented before party members and stakeholders. The presence of party leaders, elders, government officials, party executives, and supporters underscored the organisational efforts taking place within the APC in Abeokuta South.
For the newly inaugurated council, the task ahead extends beyond the ceremony and the financial commitments announced. Sustaining cooperation among party stakeholders, coordinating campaign activities, and maintaining engagement with communities will be important responsibilities as the 2027 elections approach.
The gathering, therefore, combined political organisation, the presentation of committees, aspirants, and a significant financial pledge, with Hon. Akeem Amosun’s announcement and the spirited response from his supporters among its most prominent talking points.
As the campaign council begins its work, attention will turn to how its leadership translates the inauguration’s commitments into practical action across Abeokuta South Federal and State Constituencies.
