Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, the eldest child of the late elder statesman and Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has revealed the circumstances of his father’s death on Tuesday.
Taiwo, who is also the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, disclosed in an interview that his father passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 100.
“Baba passed on this evening around 4pm peacefully in his room, on his bed.
“About 4pm, 20th of October 2026. Baba was 100 years old.
“He turned 100 in May. We were all looking forward to his 101st birthday, but God knows best. We’re happy, we thank God for his life and for the impactful life he lived,” he said.
The Ondo SSG also said his father should be celebrated in death and not mourned.
