From Seyi Tayese, Yenagoa
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Bayelsa State Chapter has said for President Tinubu not to put BAYELSA in his campaign schedule means is afraid because the president has nothing to campaign with and is afraid of defeat already.

According to Prince Mac-Ake NDC Bayelsa State Publicity Secretary during a Media Parley in Yenagoa at the Party Secretariat said, when you talked about the president not visiting Bayelsa, the emergence of Peter Obi as candidates for NDC has started putting fear into the APC-led administration because they know that Obi and the NDC have organic support.
He said Obi won the 2023 general election. ” He won the election but because of the issues of structure, that is why today Peter Obi was not sworn-in as president of Nigeria.
But as at today, the story of 2023 is different because Obi now has structure and the the structure is NDC. And NDC have the organic supporters.
” So the fear is there and secondly, I will say again, for him not to come to Bayelsa is a clear indications of undermining the people of Bayelsa that we are not worthy of his presence. So we are taking lead from those mistakes to further tell our people that he shouldn’t be trusted and he shouldn’t be given a second chance. We have the man that will change the narrative, Peter Gregory Obi. That’s the man come 16th January 2027 general election that Nigeria and Bayelsa are going to vote for”.
Clearing air on the internal wrangling within NDC said, some issues actually came out from the primaries and is normal because, “we are all politically minded in nature”. Saying there were diverse issues during the primaries, “people will have diverse interests in terms of candidates to run or fly the flag of the party, but like I said earlier, NDC are people of high principle.
” Immediately after the primaries they all came together and immediately, we closed ranks. And we have a very formidable candidates come 2027 general election. There is no friction, there is love, there is friendship, there is comradeship and opportunity to close rank between the members and candidates of NDC.
“We don’t have any friction. We are moving forward and that is why you see that our style of campaign is different from the usual noise making but meeting with the people directly at the grassroots, our campaign have been going on smoothly. You can attest to the fact that there is no negativity whatsoever within the public space about NDC and its candidates. There is no rancour amongst our members and candidates”.
Prince Mac-Ake while answering questions from journalists said, all NDC candidates have something tangible to shows for their living, saying the party have confidence in them. “Like I said, a man who have done well in his private business, definitely is going to do well in public office because charity they say begins from home.
You must first be a good man in your house. You must be somebody to reckon with and that’s what the society will judge you for”.
” So, all our candidates are those persons who live in a community that when they push out their daily endeavor and people tell a good story about them.So we are not deterred about our candidates’ behavior. Talking about experience, what do people call experience most times? It can be define in a different concept. The success story of our candidates alone is enough to do their legislature business at all levels.
” So, the issues of first-timers will not even play out in the National Assembly. I want to beat my chest, that we will come again some other time to discuss these things. NDC will make up the highest numbers of National Assembly because our presidential candidate Peter Obi is going to win the election come January 16th 2027″.
