President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of two service chiefs by 18 months.
The affected service chiefs are the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche and Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap.

The approval was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The statement said Nwakuche will now stay in office till May 26, 2028, while Nandap’s tenure will end on June 30, 2028.
Onanuga added that the extension of both service chiefs followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The President commended both officers for the reforms recorded under their leadership and asked them to build on the gains.
Recall that Tinubu appointed Nwakuche as CG of the Correctional Service in December 2024 and the Senate confirmed him in March 2025.
Similarly, Kemi Nanna Nandap was nominated as Comptroller-General of Immigration on February 21, 2024, and her appointment was confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 2024.
