The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on Saturday joined Christian leaders, clerics and faithful at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta.

Senator Adeola, who attended the golden jubilee celebration alongside other dignitaries and stakeholders, congratulated the Christian Association of Nigeria on five decades of promoting Christian unity, peaceful coexistence and the collective interests of the Christian community.

Speaking at the event, the Senator reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with the Christian community in Ogun State and pledged to work closely with CAN across the state.

He also reiterated his commitment to continuity in governance, stating that his administration, if elected in 2027, would build on the foundation laid by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun while improving areas requiring further attention and introducing new initiatives aimed at advancing the development of Ogun State.

Senator Adeola described the anniversary as an important milestone for the Christian body and commended its leadership for fostering unity among the different Christian blocs under CAN.

He particularly acknowledged the leadership of the Ogun State chapter of CAN and offered prayers for continued wisdom and strength for its leaders as they work to keep the Christian community united.

The 50th anniversary celebration brought together Christian leaders and members from across Ogun State in thanksgiving for CAN’s journey over the past five decades and its contributions to the growth, unity and peaceful coexistence of the Christian community.
