Nigeria, Ile-Ife – A socio-cultural organisation, Olodo-de Elders Group of Yorubaland has presented the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Ashley Ogunwusi, with the certificate of prestigious title of Iyalode of Olodo-de Elders Group of Yorubaland.
The certificate was formally presented to Olori Ashley on Sunday, 27th September, 2026 at the sidelines of the Olojo Festival get-together party held inside Oodua Hall at the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Presenting the certificate, the Convener and National Coordinator of the group, Ogbeni Kamilu Olajide Ajani, commended Olori Ashley for her passion for the preservation, promotion and celebration of Yoruba culture and traditions.
Kamilu said the honour was in recognition of what he described as the Olori’s strong demonstration of Yoruba cultural values and her consistent commitment to projecting the rich heritage of the Yoruba people.
He eulogised Olori Ashley for what he described as her exemplary appreciation of Yoruba customs and traditions, noting that her passion for the culture had earned her the confidence and recognition of the group.
The group also presented a certificate of Otun Iyalode to Hon. Mrs Abosede Julia Akpaki, through Olori Ashley Ogunwusi.
The presentations formed part of activities surrounding the Olojo Festival, one of the significant cultural celebrations associated with Ile-Ife, the historic cradle of the Yoruba.
Among representatives of the group at the ceremony were its Senior Special Adviser (Media), Elder Adetokunbo Fakeye (JP), Alhaji Habeeb Habdulahi Eyiowuawi and Asiwaju Kola Alimi.
The group said the recognitions were part of its broader commitment to celebrating individuals who demonstrate dedication to the preservation of Yoruba culture, values and heritage.
