The Bauchi State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project has received a delegation from the Veterinary Section of the Nigeria Police Force on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and improving livestock and veterinary services in the state.
The delegation, led by Dr. Bala Abubakar, was received by the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Musa Adamu One, at the L-PRES Project office in Bauchi.
Speaking during the engagement, the two parties discussed areas of mutual interest, including livestock production, animal health, veterinary services, disease surveillance, prevention and control, as well as capacity building and technical support.
The L-PRES team also explored the possibility of supporting police communities to improve livestock production and animal health, while strengthening access to veterinary services.
The State Project Coordinator expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force Veterinary Section for the visit, assuring the delegation of the project’s readiness to collaborate with relevant government institutions and stakeholders towards sustainable livestock development in Bauchi State.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to share experiences and identify practical areas of cooperation, particularly in veterinary public health, livestock disease surveillance, capacity building and other livestock-related interventions.
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Bala Abubakar, appreciated the L-PRES management for receiving the team, stressing the importance of collaboration among government institutions and other stakeholders in addressing challenges affecting livestock health and productivity.
He said stronger institutional partnerships would contribute to improved veterinary services and enhance efforts to prevent and control livestock diseases.
The visit ended with both parties expressing commitment to maintaining communication and exploring practical areas of collaboration for the benefit of livestock farmers, animal owners and communities across Bauchi State.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Bauchi L-PRES communication officer, Mohammed Abdul, the visit was described as a significant step towards strengthening institutional collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force Veterinary Section and the Bauchi L-PRES Project.
The statement said the partnership is expected to contribute to improved veterinary service delivery, livestock health, productivity and resilience in the state.
