Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Prof Taiwo Oyedele, the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Sidi Tah, will lead discussants at the 9th Foreign Investment Network (FIN) Banking on Emerging Markets Forum in Bangkok, Thailand.

Other leading discussants at the prestigious event include the Director of the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24), Dr Iyabo Masha and the Chairman of Hinduja Group (Europe), Mr. Prakash P. Hinduja.

It is instructive to note that the FIN’s annual emerging-markets platform will focus on mobilising private capital, creating jobs, strengthening financial resilience and harnessing technology for inclusive growth during the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok.

In a statement made available on Monday and signed by the FIN’s Event Director, Kate Sovdagar, the banking emerging markets forum will hold on Monday, October 12, 2026 at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok, Thailand.

The event will also bring together policymakers, financial institutions, development-finance leaders, investors, business executives and technology innovators to explore practical approaches to mobilising capital, creating jobs, strengthening financial systems and accelerating sustainable and inclusive growth across emerging markets.

Convened annually on the margins of the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings, the FIN forum focuses on connecting policy, private capital and economic opportunity. It brings governments, banks, development institutions, investors and businesses together to explore how global economic priorities can be translated into investment, infrastructure, enterprise, employment and measurable development outcomes.

The Bangkok agenda will also address economic growth and job creation, private-capital mobilisation, financial resilience, infrastructure investment, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, digital finance, cybersecurity, international trade and sustainable development.

At the centre of the discussions will be a practical question: How can emerging markets translate global financial dialogue into investable opportunities, stronger businesses, more jobs and measurable economic development?

A brief FIN Emerging Markets Leadership Awards 2026 presentation will complement the forum, recognising selected leaders for their contributions across finance, investment, technology, government, enterprise and sustainable development.

Leading the programme will be Dr. Iyabo Masha, Director of the Secretariat of the G-24
The G-24 brings together developing and emerging economies to coordinate their positions on major international monetary, financial and development issues, particularly in deliberations involving the IMF and World Bank.

As Director of its permanent Secretariat, Dr. Masha plays a central role in facilitating consensus among member countries and supporting their collective voice within the international financial architecture.

Masha’s participation brings directly into the FIN forum the perspectives and priorities of emerging and developing economies at a time when finance ministers, central bank governors, development institutions and international financial leaders are gathering in Bangkok.

On his path, Mr. Prakash P. Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group (Europe), will bring a major international private-sector and investment perspective to the Bangkok forum.

Together with his brothers — the late Srichand P. Hinduja, the late Gopichand P. Hinduja and Ashok P. Hinduja — Prakash Hinduja helped guide the diversification and international expansion of the Hinduja Group. The Group’s interests span banking and finance, mobility, digital technology, energy, healthcare, real estate and other sectors across international markets.

Hinduja’s participation brings to FIN’s emerging-markets dialogue the perspective of a family enterprise with more than a century of international business history and extensive experience across developed and emerging economies.

For the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry (BOI), Nigeria, Dr Olasupo Olusi, who is a confirmed speaker at the Bangkok forum, his participation adds a practical development-finance perspective to discussions on how financial institutions can mobilise capital, strengthen industries, support enterprises and translate investment into jobs and sustainable economic growth.

Some of the invited international leaders for the forum include Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Thailand, who has been invited to participate in the forum.

Dr. Nutcharut Klamthawee, Executive Advisor, IOT Holding Co., Ltd. & IOT Industrial Park Co., Ltd., is a confirmed participant in the Bangkok programme and will contribute perspectives on industrial development, technology, innovation and investment.

Also invited are Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank, and Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The President of the AfDB, Dr Sidi Ould Tah, has been nominated for recognition at the FIN Emerging Markets Leadership Awards 2026 and invited to participate in the 9th FIN Banking on Emerging Markets Forum in Bangkok.

As President of one of the world’s leading multilateral development finance institutions, Tah is advancing an agenda focused on mobilising development finance at scale, strengthening private-sector investment and accelerating Africa’s economic transformation.

Tah’s leadership and the African Development Bank Group’s role in mobilising capital for infrastructure, enterprise and sustainable development closely align with the central themes of this year’s FIN forum.

Other confirmed speakers, participants and leadership honorees include : Mrs. Voranuch Dejakaisaya, Executive Chairman, KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG); Mr. Winyou Chaiyawan, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited; Ms. Onfa Vejjajiva, Secretary-General, Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), Thailand; Mrs. Airada Luangvilai, Acting President & CEO and Senior Executive Vice President, Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), Thailand; and Academician Emerita Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Mazlan Othman FASc, Malaysian astrophysicist and former Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

They also include Mr. Narinrit Prem-apiwathanokul, CEO, Sovereignt Company Limited; Asst. Prof. Dr. Krissana Bulan, CEO, Value Beyond Co., Ltd.; Dr. Jurapas Pitaksethakarn, President, PINCO World Thailand Co., Ltd.; Dr. Aranya Phongsaard, Deputy Director, International Innovation Business Development Center, Assumption University; Mr. Wanchai Khotkaew, Managing Director, Ratchanakorn Supply Co., Ltd.; Ms. Chawanada Maykharsakulwong, Deputy Managing Director and Partner, BENT GROUP COMPANY LIMITED; Ms. Thanaporn Rangkapanee, CEO and Founder, ASIA Medical Group; Mr. Prasert Piyasachadesh, President, Promotional Export and Investment Trade Association (PEITA); and Mr. Niphon Pheurkert, President, IOT Holding Co., Ltd.

It is important to note that the confirmed participants represent a broad cross-section of the emerging-markets ecosystem — from government, banking and development finance to private investment, technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, industrial development, trade and entrepreneurship.

For the record, the FIN Banking on Emerging Markets Forum, now in its ninth edition, is FIN’s annual platform convened on the margins of the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings.

When the Annual Meetings are held in Washington, FIN convenes its forum around the global gathering. When the IMF and World Bank take the Annual Meetings to another member country, FIN’s international edition follows the meetings to the host city.

In 2023, FIN convened its Banking on Emerging Markets programme in Marrakech, Morocco, when the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings were hosted there. In 2026, FIN moves its international edition to Bangkok, where the Annual Meetings will take place from 12–18 October 2026.

Ketevan “Kate” Sovdagari, Vice President of the Foreign Investment Network (FIN), served as Event Director for FIN’s Marrakech programme in 2023 and will again serve as Event Director for the ninth edition in Bangkok, providing continuity between FIN’s international editions.

The Bangkok programme will be hosted by two Thai-English bilingual Masters of Ceremonies. Mr. Todstham “Todd” Piumsomboon, an experienced bilingual MC, television presenter and moderator, has hosted more than 1,000 events, including international conferences, forums, gala dinners and corporate functions.

Todd will be joined by Ms. Chayanrita “Bella” Na Bangchang, a professional bilingual emcee, event host and moderator with experience across international conferences, business events, press conferences and corporate ceremonies.

The Foreign Investment Network (FIN) is an international investment and business platform connecting governments, investors, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and private-sector leaders across emerging and established markets.

Through its international forums, investment programmes and publications, FIN facilitates dialogue, cross-border investment connections and partnerships between policymakers, investors and businesses.
