…says ‘we won’t dissolve council’
The OK Movement says its 59-man Presidential Campaign Council is still intact.
This is despite the Nigeria Democratic Congress rejecting the campaign team.
National Director-General of the Movement, John Ughulu, said in a statement on Friday that the council will not be dissolved.
According to him, the PCC does not need approval from NDC leadership or anybody in the party.
Ughulu was reacting to NDC National Chairman, Cleopas Moses, who earlier disowned the PCC and told the public and media to ignore it.
Ughulu said the OK Movement is on its own.
He said the Movement had its own leaders, principles and structure.
He said they do not need NDC national leader, Seriake Dickson, or any party official to approve how the Movement is run.
He said, “The OK Movement wishes to reaffirm, unequivocally, that its position remains unchanged.
“The Presidential Campaign Council structure already constituted and announced by the OK Movement remains valid and operational, irrespective of the position or opinion of any individual leader of the party or presidential candidate.”
The OK Movement is a political support group of the NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
