Lamine Yamal scored once in each half in Barcelona’s 4-2 win at Levante to ensure the Spanish La Liga champions continued their title defence with another win.
The Catalans scored three of their goals in the second half against a spirited Levante side that mounted a late comeback with two goals.
Xavi Espart and Karim Adeyemi were the other goalscorers for Los Cules.
Barcelona went ahead on five minutes through Espart’s finish from a Raphinha pass, his first ever goal for the club. Yamal doubled the lead when he finished a quick counter attack and became the first Barcelona player since Lionel Messi to score or assist in all first five matches of a La Liga season.
The 19-year-old was brought down early in the second half and he dusted himself up to convert the penalty for 3-0 before the hosts attempted a late fightback.
Levante scored twice in nine minutes late on when Ivan Romero capitalized on a Xavi Espart mistake to make it 3-1 on 79 minutes, and Roger Brugue squeezed a shot in a crowded penalty area into the net to move within a goal of the visitors.
Adeyemi however netted in added time to ensure maximum points for Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s side are flawless in the first five matches of the season with a 100% record, collecting 15 points from 5 matches, three points ahead of second-placed arch-rivals Real Madrid.
