In a significant display of unity, goodwill and community partnership, Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko (TVO), candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, today paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Suleiman Rabiu, the Emir/Sarkin Hausawa and Asiwaju of the Arewa Community, Amuwo Odofin, at the prestigious Emirates Council Palace.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement between the political leadership of Amuwo Odofin Constituency II and the traditional leadership of the Arewa community, with both sides reaffirming the importance of peaceful coexistence, inclusive leadership, community development and a stronger future for all residents.

During the warm reception at the palace, Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko was formally endorsed, while the Emirates Council pledged its full support towards his election come 2027.

The royal endorsement represents a significant show of confidence in TVO’s vision, leadership capacity and commitment to representing the diverse interests of the people of Amuwo Odofin Constituency II.

One of the most memorable moments of the visit was the powerful prayer and royal blessing offered to Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko by His Royal Highness, Emir/Sarkin Hausawa Suleiman Rabiu, alongside other respected leaders of the various Arewa communities present at the palace.

The prayers were offered for wisdom, strength, divine guidance, success and a peaceful journey towards the 2027 election, as the traditional leaders expressed their hopes for a leadership that will genuinely serve the people.

The atmosphere at the palace was filled with warmth, mutual respect and optimism as community leaders gathered to welcome and encourage the aspiring legislator.

Speaking during the visit, TVO expressed his profound appreciation to His Royal Highness, the Emirates Council and all the Arewa community leaders for the warm reception, royal blessings, endorsement and confidence reposed in him.

He reaffirmed that his vision for Amuwo Odofin Constituency II goes beyond politics, emphasizing that every community and every resident deserves to feel represented, valued and included.

TVO promised to prioritize programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering young people, supporting small business owners, strengthening opportunities for women and providing meaningful support for elders within the constituency.

He emphasized that youth empowerment and economic opportunities will remain important pillars of his vision, while women, senior citizens, entrepreneurs and other vulnerable members of society will not be left behind.

According to TVO, the constituency can only truly progress when its people are empowered to become economically independent and active contributors to community development.

He further emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among traditional institutions, community leaders, youths, women, professionals, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in building a more prosperous Amuwo Odofin Constituency II.

Hon. Onwubiko reiterated that Amuwo Odofin Constituency II belongs to everyone who lives, works and contributes to its growth, regardless of ethnic, religious or cultural background.

His engagement with the Arewa community further demonstrated his commitment to building bridges across communities and promoting a spirit of unity, mutual respect and collective development.

The royal endorsement also adds another important dimension to the growing goodwill surrounding TVO’s aspiration to bring a New Voice, a New Dawn and a New Leadership to the Lagos State House of Assembly.

TVO was accompanied on the courtesy visit by members of the Team TVO Strategy Engine Room, who joined him in demonstrating the importance of broad-based consultation and constructive engagement with key community stakeholders.

The visit concluded on a strong note of solidarity, with the Emirates Council and Arewa community leaders reaffirming their goodwill and support for Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko ahead of the 2027 election.

As the journey towards the 2027 Lagos State House of Assembly election continues, the royal endorsement, prayers and pledged support from the Arewa leadership stand as a powerful testament to the importance of unity and inclusive representation in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II.

From the Emirates Council Palace, the message was clear: leadership must unite, representation must include everyone, and service must remain at the heart of governance.
