The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South Zonal Working Committee has called on the national leadership to take steps to immortalise its deceased zonal chairman, Chief Dan Osi Orbih.
The Zonal Working Committee, in a communique issued after its emergency meeting and signed by its zonal publicity secretary, Prince Etim Isong stated that the late Zonal Chairman died in active service and called on the national leadership of the party to accord him a befitting national burial.
The Zonal Working Committee, while acknowledging the significant contributions of the late Zonal Chairman to the growth, progress, and stability of the PDP, implored the national leadership to immortalise his name in recognition of his immense contributions to the growth and survival of the party.
It commended the national leader of the party and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, the National Working Committee, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the Board of Trustees (BOT), stakeholders, and indeed all Nigerians for their support to the late Zonal Chairman while he lived, and for their sympathy and condolences since his passing.
The meeting, which was attended by eight of the 10 members of the Zonal Working Committee, set up a burial committee under the chairmanship of Chief Lesi Mao (National Ex-Officio, Rivers State) and High Chief (Hon.) George Turnah (Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Bayelsa State) as Co-Chairman, while Hon. Hillary Otsu (Secretary, Edo State PDP) will serve as secretary.
Other members include the deputy organising secretary, Efere Augustin; zonal publicity secretary, Isong; chairmen of the party in Edo, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom; and the acting Chairman of Rivers State, among others.
