The process for electing leaders of Ogun West Professionals for Yayi came to a close on Sunday with the declaration of winners of the various Executive positions.

It also had the aspirants for the various offices reeling out plans and programmes, a statement by group’s newly elected
Public Relations Officer, Rotn Kayode Babatunde Taiwo, said.

The Electoral Committee led by a Professor of Engineering, Funke Akinkurolere released the result of the online voting, which involved over two 200 members of the 800-strong elite group, it added.

According to the released results, Dr Morakinyo Oloyede emerged as the President of the group. Other newly elected officers are Mr Timothy Olatunji, Vice President; Mr Akinleye Olubori, General Secretary; Mr Agboyinu Benjamin, Finance Secretary; Mr Adekunle Adebiyi, Treasurer; Rotn Kayode Taiwo, PRO; Prince Tosin Adeluyi, Project Coordinator; Welfare Officer, Hajia Fausat Bashir and Dr Tosin Adegbola as the Assistant Secretary.

The professional body formed with the objective of providing support through mass mobilisation and sensitisation of voters in Ogun West and by extension, Ogun State for the actualisation of the governorship victory of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi in the 2027 elections.
Towards actualisation of this objective, the Forum has been organising various community voter education, media chat and production of various public media sensitisation since its formation.

The statement added that with the emergence of the group’s elected officers, pursuant to the achievement of its objectives, OGWPY will now focus on its plans and programmes for the general elections, which include delivering a minimum of 500,000 (five hundred thousand) votes from Ogun West Senatorial District for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.

In an online interview, several members of the forum commended the perfect coordination of the process by the Electoral Committee, congratulating them for a job well done.

The date for the official inauguration of the new OGWPY Executive members will be subsequently announced.
