Senator representing Osun East in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, on Wednesday, reported at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo following his invitation by police authorities.
Fadahunsi arrived at about 2:35 pm in company with the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Etaifo.
Although Fadahunsi, later on Tuesday, vehemently denied instructing APC members to kill Accord Party supporters, claiming he was only being ‘metaphorical’ in his comment.
But the lawmaker is currently being questioned by the police over his alleged inciting comments.
The Senator and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Francis Eniade, came under fire on Tuesday for allegedly making threats against Accord Party members ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
In a video that circulated on social media on Tuesday, Fadahunsi, who spoke in Yoruba, said any Accord member sighted in Ilesa before Saturday, when the election will hold, should be killed.
Police had earlier warned political actors against inflammatory statements capable of heightening tensions ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
