Former Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has been selected among the draw assistants for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification draw.

Troost-Ekong, who is regarded as one of the best defenders Africa has ever produced, will be joined by three other continent’s legends, Max-Alain Gradel, Essam El Hadary and Trésor Mputu.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has announced that the draw ceremony will hold at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association, EFA.

It will be transmitted live on CAF TV, and social media platforms.

48 countries including the three co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will take part in the qualifiers.

They will be drawn into 12 groups, with the top two in each pool advancing to the continental finals.

The AFCON 2027 finals will be played from 19 June-17 July 2027.
