A first class graduate of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Rofeeqoh Adeyinka Odunmbaku, has emerged as top performer in the just released November 2025 Diet of the professional examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN).

Odunmbaku emerged as second overall best out of over 2,000 candidates that undertook the prestigious examinations.

Head of Department of Accounting, Crescent University, Prof. Tunji Siyanbola broke the news to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila while also presenting the invitation letter of induction by ICAN.

A letter of invitation to induction ceremony of May, 2026, signed by Deputy Director, Membership Affairs, ICAN, Shakiru Akanni Balogun, FCA under the title “Prize Winners of the Institute’s Professional Examinations-November 2025 Diet” was addressed to Odunmbaku as follows:

“The Membership Affairs Committee, on behalf of the Council, wishes to congratulate you as one of the prize winners in the November 2025 Diet of the Institute’s professional examinations.

“You are hereby invited to the Induction Ceremony for newly admitted members of the Institute during which your prize will be presented to you”

In a chat, Odunmbaku attributed her success to Crescent University. In her words, ” Crescent University contributed greatly to my success academically and morally. The university provided an environment that encouraged excellence, discipline and continuous learning. The support and encouragement from lecturers, mentors and colleagues also played an important role in my journey “, she commented.

According to her, “the journey was not completely smooth. I wrote the skills level three times before succeeding. I saw failure as a stepping stone which taught me resilience, patience and consistency”.

In a related development, a lecturer of the Department of Accounting of Crescent University, Dr Abdulfatah Nurudeen, has also become an associate chartered member of ICAN. He was inducted alongside Odunmbaku at the ceremony held between 12th and 13th May, 2026 in Lagos.

It is recalled that the duo of Ibrahim Gafar Olatunji and Rofiat Olaleye of the same department had performed excellently in the earlier Diet of the 2025 ICAN professional examinations.

The vice chancellor lauded Crescent University Department of Accounting for consistently producing qualified chartered accountants in its two decades of existence.
