Iran has criticised a US-backed proposal concerning movement through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as flawed and politically motivated.
In a post on X, Iran’s UN mission said, “The only viable solution in the Strait of Hormuz is clear: a permanent end to the war, the lifting of the maritime blockade, and the restoration of normal passage.”
The mission also accused the United States of promoting the plan to serve its own interests, saying it is intended to “advance its political agenda and legitimise unlawful actions – not to resolve the crisis.”
