…as church’s 57th annual Mount Horeb ascension begins
Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O) has urged Nigerians and global leaders to take practical steps toward national renewal and lasting peace.
CSMC Spiritual Father and Chairman, Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, in a statement issued ahead of its 57th Annual Mount Horeb Ascension, highlighted the country’s pressing challenges, including economic hardship, inflation, food insecurity, and worsening insecurity such as kidnapping, banditry and communal conflicts.
The cleric, who is also the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Unification, noted that while the administration of President Bola Tinubu had recorded some macroeconomic gains, more effort is needed to ensure that these benefits reach ordinary citizens.

He, therefore, called for closer monitoring of government policies to improve their real impact on the population.
Baba Aladura Alogbo also urged political actors and citizens to uphold democratic integrity as Nigeria approaches another electoral cycle, emphasising accountability in governance.
On global issues, the Church expressed concern over ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, calling for ceasefires, protection of civilians, and renewed commitment to diplomacy. It also warned against rising nuclear tensions and appealed for de-escalation and disarmament.
The annual Mount Horeb Ascension, themed, “Covenant of Mercy,” will take place from May 3 to May 10, 2026, at the Church’s International Headquarters in Orile-Igbon, Oyo State. The event is expected to bring together religious leaders, government officials, and other dignitaries for prayers and reflection on national and global challenges.
According to the Church, the gathering will focus on spiritual renewal while encouraging leaders to govern with integrity and citizens to act with unity and compassion.
