Hon.Obafemi has declared his intention to contest for the House of Assembly seat in Odogbolu State Constituency in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Odogbolu, Hon. Onakoya emphasised his commitment to providing better representation for the people of the constituency.
According to him, his decision to join the race is driven by a desire to serve and further contribute to the development of the area.
Hon. Onakoya is a seasoned politician who has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Odogbolu State Constituency in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, and Nigeria at large.
Over the years, he has held several strategic political positions. He served as Liaison Officer to the local Government.
He also served as Chairman in Ifesowapo Local Council Development Association and Caretaker Chairman Odogbolu Local Government Area.
During his tenure as Ifesowapo LCDA chairman, Hon. Onakoya, among others, facilitated an ICT Centre in Imodi by Airtel. His administration also opened up Imodi-Ago Iwoye road.
He won the best Chairman in Community Development in 2018, an award given by the Governor of Ogun State.
As Odogbolu Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Onakoya completed the health centre in Imodi. He also upgraded Ikoto Health Centre.
His administration distributed palliatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to residents of the local government.
Odogbolu Chairmanship cup 2020 and several other community-based projects were also executed under his tenure.
With a vision for effective representation, Hon. Obafemi Onakoya now looks ahead to contesting the 2027 House of Assembly Constituency seat alongside other aspirants.
He is also a successful banker with operations in different towns and has traveled extensively both within and outside Nigeria.
As the 2027 elections approach, political observers are encouraged to watch out for Hon. Obafemi Onakoya as a key contender for the Odogbolu State Constituency seat.
