Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has officially welcomed the immediate past deputy governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, into the party.

Kwankwaso described Gwarzo’s defection as a major boost to the party’s growing structure.

Kwankwaso, a former New Nigerian Peoples Party presidential candidate, disclosed this via his official X handle on Monday.

He commended Gwarzo for the decision to join the opposition coalition.

Kwankwaso wrote, “I heartily congratulate Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, on his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“The grand reception held yesterday in Gwarzo Town has not only strengthened our ranks with his wealth of experience, but has also injected fresh energy and renewed enthusiasm into the party.

“Welcome home, Your Excellency, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.”

Gwarzo formally joined the ADC on Sunday during a well-attended event held in Gwarzo Town.
