The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) on Friday commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for rewarding Taiwo Solanke, Nigeria’s Overall Best Primary School Teacher, with a brand-new car and a two-bedroom bungalow under the State Housing Scheme.

The National President of the association, Aàrẹ Oluwafemi Ajayi gave the commendation in a statement made available to journalists, adding that the generous recognition highlights a government that values excellence, invests in educators’ welfare and inspires students across Ogun State to excel.

The student leader, popularly called FM Castro, pointed out that the reward given to Solanke is applauded because it celebrates exceptional dedication, innovation and impact in teaching, showing that hard work and excellence are recognised and valued in Ogun State’s education sector.

“Together, these actions demonstrate a government that invests in both educators and students, fostering a culture of merit, achievement, and opportunity for all”, Ajayi emphasised.

The students body equally appreciated the Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbagbu, and the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, for their continuous efforts to strengthen education and support student welfare.

The association affirmed resolution to support Abiodun political ambition beyond 2027, disclosing that mobilization already underway among students in various campuses towards massive support for the Governor on future political aspirations on completion of his two terms.

“Representing Ogun State students nationwide, we proudly stand in solidarity with this administration. We are confident in the Governor’s leadership and commit to supporting his political ambitions beyond 2027, with mobilization already underway among students in various campuses and youth”, Ajayi emphasised.

The students in the statement respectfully appealed for the release of the 2026 bursary, adding that they have already resumed studies and require urgent financial support to succeed.

“The bursary is crucial for Ogun State students as it provides immediate financial relief, allowing them to focus fully on their studies without the stress of academic-related expenses, while also motivating them to achieve their full potential”, Ajayi added

The statement stated that the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) reassured government of continue support on initiatives that promote education, empower youth, and drive the progress of Ogun State.
