The Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) has named Team Lead of Platforms Africa, Adeola Yusuf, Ph.D, one of the leaders from the industry rallied for the 9th International Energy Summit to examine and drive the narrative on how human capital, leadership, and strategic communication affect Nigeria’s and Africa’s energy transformation.

The summit brings together global leaders and policymakers under the theme “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future.”

In an official document signed by the organiser, Mr. Kunle Odusola-Stevenson, which detailed the invitation, it was shown that the energy communication researcher would be on a panel session themed: “Talent, Leadership & Narrative for Nigeria and Africa’s 2050 Energy Goals.”

Having the Executive Secretary, Petroleum Trust and Development Fund (PTDF), Ahmed Galadima Aminu, as the lead speaker, the panel would also feature Engr. Dr. Samuel Erhigare Onoji, Principal/CE, PI; Ms. Sophia Mbakwe, Executive President, Business Services, NNPC; and Engr. Yetunde Aladeltan, Ph.D, National Chairman, NPetE / Associate Professor, University of Abuja as panelists.

Other panelists and speakers at the plenary session, to be moderated by Communications Manager, Chevron, Dr. Victor Anyaegbudike, are Ms. Tolu Olanrewaju, Senior Advisor, Upstream Commercial & Business Development, Chevron Nigeria/Mid Africa; Ms. Joy Osomiambe-O, Regional Manager Africa, World Energy Council; Engr. (Dr) Amina Danmadami, Senior Manager NMDPRA; and Mrs. Tolulope Longe, President, Women in Energy, Oil and Gas (WEOG).

This plenary, NIES said, “unites leaders from industry, government, academia, media, and civil society to examine how human capital, leadership, and strategic communication will drive Nigeria’s and Africa’s energy transformation.

“The session will explore future skills and workforce needs across hydrocarbons, renewables, power, and critical minerals, with a focus on youth development, STEM competencies, women’s leadership, and inclusive talent pipelines.”

Yusuf, an award-winning development journalist with over two decades of experience, “will highlight the role of energy communications, media, and ESG storytelling in attracting investment, strengthening stakeholder trust, and projecting a cohesive African energy narrative,” NIES said.

Discussions, it continued, “will emphasise collaboration between industry, government, academia, and the media to build a future-ready workforce and position Africa as a credible, competitive, and investable energy destination.”
