All Progressives Congress chieftain, Hon. Tomisin Edu has been appointed Chairman of the APC Diaspora Women Wing Summit Planning Committee, placing her in charge of coordinating a diverse team of influential women leaders drawn from global communities.
Edu represents Akure North/South Federal Constituency in Ondo State

Her leadership marks a central component of the initiative unveiled by the Office of the APC National Woman Leader.
The National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Mary Alile Idele, announced the inauguration of the committee as part of efforts to strengthen the global participation and influence of APC women in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking during a press briefing, she reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive leadership and noted that Nigerian women in the diaspora remain key contributors to the nation’s political development and democratic growth.
Dr Idele explained that the forthcoming APC Diaspora Women Summit was conceived to deepen engagement, promote unity and enhance collaboration among APC women across Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.
According to her, the summit forms part of a broader plan aimed at boosting political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 global endorsement of President Tinubu.
She said the summit would provide a platform to celebrate achievements, amplify the voices of Nigerian women abroad and address longstanding challenges affecting their political participation.
The initiative, she added, would also reinforce cross-border alliances among APC women and further highlight their strategic roles in advancing the Renewed Hope vision.
Under Edu’s leadership, the committee includes Precious Aiyemere (Sweden); Mrs Doris Okafor (Italy); Lady Eseosa Subuloye (United Kingdom); Chief Mrs Regina Uchechi Allwell Olivia (UAE); Mrs Martina Martins (France); Hon. Shaba Jumoke Helen (South Africa); Chief Hon. Billy Umar-Garba (USA); and Joyce Antonia Ibrahim (Ireland).
Dr Idele expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to deliver a world-class summit that reflects excellence, resilience and the global presence of Nigerian women.
She maintained that the initiative would serve as a turning point in diaspora political mobilisation and position APC women as important partners in Nigeria’s democratic consolidation and national progress.
