Ben Ogbemudia, Abuja

The National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, Engr. Yabagi Sani, has advised the Federal Government to deploy scientific and calculated method in checking rising poverty level.

He said the Federal Government can give support financially to the poorest of the poor; palliatives can be given to farmers by way of provision of farming inputs like fertilisers and agro chemicals.

Engr. Yabagi gave the advice on Wednesday may 29th to review a year in administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while briefing journalist on the party up National Convention.

He speaks further, “It will be an irony and an amusing one at that for the leadership to live in opulence while the citizenry is asked to tighten their belts.

“The Action Democratic Party therefore called on those in authority to cut down their excesses that tend to spit on the eyes of the common man and work together to better the lots of the citizenry. “It is our belief that efficiency without effectiveness can be disastrous.

The federal government should work seriously on National Unity rather new national Anthem, because what affect people in the streets are basic things of life especially food, as such I ask Mr President to step up his effort toward meeting the yeanings of our countrymen.

Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, also ask President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to launch a probe into previous oil Subsidy regime where few individuals Converted Nigeria’s commonwealth in the name of subsidy so that we can recover the funds and blocked linkeges in the oil and gas Sector of our economy.

Even though I have commended Mr President for taking a very bold step to remove the infamous fuel subsidy and other policies that he has initiated . I ask him to apply human face because, there is poverty in the land , so therefore I want him to take a bold step as he is entering the second year in his administration as corruption is so endemic in the country.

The ADP National Chairman said if you look at NEITI report yearly it is a known fact that oil sector issue in Nigeria is like a ghost whose abode is unknown to anybody because in all discussions surrounding Petroleum economy is like its payment and who receives the payment still remains a difficult task and the accurate amount of oil taken away is unknown.

“Notwithstanding, fuel subsidy has been removed and Nigerians are groaning under the unbearable yoke of the removal. We are of the opinion that fuel subsidy removal should not just be removal for its sake but that the Federal Government should dig deep into how the whole system has been working from its inception till date. What we are saying in effect is, the massive corruption in oil regime should be probed and sanctions meted out to culprits.

“I therefore welcome all of us to the National Secretariat of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) on his this historic day preparation for our party National Convention that will take place this weekend, part of our activities is to amend our constitution to accommodate various aspect and sundry issues that will take the Party to a greater level and we are expecting party excos from Wards, locals and states level to be here in Abuja for the convention, our party is under going reforms that will attract faithful members into our folds.”
