President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, received former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, led Senator Anyim to President Tinubu at the State House.
Explaining why he defected to the ruling party, Anyim said, “Given the challenges the country is facing, there’s a need to put our hands on deck. The country is passing through turbulent times and it is the duty of all patriots if you have nothing to add to ensure that you continue to the peaceful atmosphere.”
The Imo Governor described Anyim as a big fish caught by the ruling APC.
Speaking in the same vein, Governor Nwifuru said Anyim is not a small fry that is looking for food.
