President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is at present presiding over the Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Tinubu also used the occasion to swear in eight recently appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries.

Earlier, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, announced that Wednesday FEC is divided into two segments – the
swearing of the New Permanent Secretaries and the Council meeting.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, then called out the new perm secs, read their citations before the President administered the oath of office.

The swearing in was done in two batches.

Those appointed and sworn in were Dr. Emanso Umobong Okop, (Akwa-Ibom), Obi Emeka Vitalis, (Anambra), Mahmood Fatima, (Bauchi) and Danjuma Mohammed Sanusi, (Jigawa).

Others are Olusanya Olubunmi, (Ondo), Dr. Keshinro Maryam Ismaila, (Zamfara), Akujobi Chinyere Ijeoma (South-East) and Isokpunwu Christopher Osaruwanmwen (South-South).

Recall that President Tinubu approved the appointment of eight new Federal Permanent Secretaries to fill in existing vacancies of some states and geo-political zones in the top administrative cadre of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The Presidential spokesman said the new Federal Permanent Secretaries were appointed after a diligent selection process which includes examinations by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Ngelale said the President anticipates that the new Federal Permanent Secretaries would exercise absolute dedication, diligence, and fidelity to the nation in the discharge of their functions and ensure optimum service delivery to the Nigerian people.

Meanwhile, the cabinet members have congratulated President Tinubu on his re-election as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

SGF Akume said the West African regional leaders must have seen in the President, a committed leader who is working for the growth and Development of the country and Africa.

According to him, “Africa has seen a committed leader and once again saw the need to re appoint the president as their leader.

“Cabinet members congratulate you, Mr President and we believe that you will continue to do your best. You have our support and loyalty is hundred percent. He said.”
