Suspected bandits, on Monday, killed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Yusuf Saidu.
Prof. Saidu, who was DVC Research, Innovation, and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, was killed by his assailants while on his way from Sokoto to Kaduna on Monday.
The University management, in a statement, said, “The death has occurred of Prof. Yusuf Saidu, the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation and Development, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.”
According to the statement, the DVC was attacked and killed by bandits on his way to Kaduna from Sokoto State.
It added that the late professor was a man of integrity, religion, dedication, and courage.
The university stated that the DVCs demise was a “painful loss.”
