Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Adekunle Olopade, has explained why Ilebaye’s victory in the All-Stars edition was particularly meaningful to him.
During a recent chit-chat with fellow colleagues Kellyrae, Jeff, and Topher, Adekunle confessed that his actions in the “Level Up” edition contributed to Ilebaye’s early eviction.
As the Head of House at the time, Adekunle had nominated Ilebaye for eviction, leading to her departure from the show in the third week.
Adekunle expressed feelings of guilt and regret, especially when he saw Ilebaye being overlooked by fans after the show.
However, he said he was overjoyed to see her return for the All-Stars edition and ultimately emerge victorious.
Adekunle said: “Ilebaye’s win in All Stars is personal to me. I’m happy that she won. And I will tell you why. In ‘Level Up’ I was head of house and our season was different; the head of house nominated the housemates for eviction. Ilebaye was part of the people that I mentioned. And she left the third week.
“When we left the house, we were trapped in the bus because fans wanted to greet us. Then Baye was standing by the gate and people were walking past her, this was someone who was with us on the show; I felt guilty because I was the one who put her up for eviction and she left. So when we came back for All-Stars and I saw her, I was happy and then she won.”
