Abakaliki FC also known as the Rice Boys were held to a goaless draw by Godswill Akpabio FC in the second home match of the ongoing National League season at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
Despite creating several scoring opportunities, both teams failed to convert their chances, leaving spectators yearning for goals in the tense encounter.
The Rice Boys, who had previously drawn 2-2 with Madibia FC and suffered a 5-2 loss to ABS in Kwara State, have now managed just two points from three games. Fans observed some improvement in the team’s coordination, but the inability to finish in front of goal remained a concern.
Speaking after the match, Abakaliki FC’s Chief Coach, Ifeanyi Onyedika, expressed dissatisfaction with the result. He pledged to work seriously on the team’s middle players and strikers to enable them score goals in the next tournament.
Meanwhile, Godswill Akpabio FC’s Technical Adviser, Patrick Udo, lamented his team’s ongoing scoring drought, noting that they have yet to score any goal in their last three matches in the league games since the season resumed.
