Water Strikers Football Club has humbled Kurotee Football Club three nil to advance to the next round of the tournament. Melvin Anderson’s brace on 42 and 45 minutes as well as Senibo John’s 71st minute strike were all Water Strikers FC needed to continue their smooth ride at the Twon Brass Centre.

Water Strikers FC continued their impressive performance in the season seven of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football fiesta, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup at the Twon Brass Centre.

In the second match, Igoni Football Club pummeled Odio Football Club by three goals to to nil. Igoni FC took the lead through Isaiah Anderson on 51 minutes after a barren first half, Isaiah Anderson doubled the lead for Igoni FC on 70 minutes to complete his brace in the encounter.

Ayebaekiepreye Itaribo made it three on 80 minutes to completely annihilate Odio FC and sent them packing from season of Nigeria’s most glamorous grassroots soccer piece.

Playing at the Ebedebiri centre, Mountain of the Lord’s Deliverance Ministry, MLDM FC ousted Toru-Orua FC by a solitary goal, as Paul Solomon’s 61 minute strike proved to be the decider.

Still at the Ebedebiri centre, Indomitable FC edged out University of Africa, Toru-Orua by two goals to one. Ese put Indomitable FC ahead three minutes into the game, but the University of Africa side restored parity just before the half time mark.

Miracle Daniel struck on 78 minutes to hand a hard fought victory to Indomitable FC and a valuable ticket to the next round of the competition.

Earlier on Monday at the Ogobiri Centre, Barca FC beat Eriama FC by three goals to two. Goals from Perediemo, Tarilade Goodness and Pension Oyins scored for Barca on the 13th, 56th, and 86th minutes, while Arepade and Godbless restored some pride for Eriama with goals in 4th and 65 minutes.

In the day’s last game at Ogobiri, Akeddei FC thrashed Okumbiri FC by four goals to one. Biye Wisdom, Jackson Timis, Kaki Kenneth scored for Akeddei, Okumbiri FC lone strike came off the foot of Godbless Deinyefa in the 61st minute.

Angalabiri FC overwhelmed Ayake FC by 3-1 on penalities after a one all draw in regulation time. Young Warriors FC also triumphed 6-5 on penalities against Mami FC having shared the spoild in regulation time. Egberike and Clinton scored for Angalabiri FC and Ayake FC on 51 and 71 minutes.
