The Otunba Woye and Baale Ikala, Otunba Sunday Adewale Okuwobi-Okudero has thanked Nigerians from all walks of life for making the 30th Ikala Day celebration a huge success with their huge supports.
The traditional ruler who stated this in an interview described the celebration as ” unique and unprecedented in the history of Ikala town” and thanked indigenes at home and in the diaspora for contributing to make the celebration a reality.
He noted that some families and individuals in the town had been supporting him to bring rapid development to the town, adding that the new spirit of unity and progress should be sustained .
He charged all sons and daughters of the town to pay their annual family levies to hasten the completion of the Community Hall and other projects.
Scores of indigent elders and orphans were given grants and scholarship during the Day whilst medals and trophies were presented to victory persons in the Football and Ayo competitions.
Welcoming guests earlier, the Chairman, 2024 Ikala Day Planning Committee, Mr. Akin Okudero unveiled the Ikala, Ijebu-Imusin Community Website: www.ikalaijebuimusin.com and thanked indigenes for the support which motivated the Committee to deliver on its goals.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Madegun of Itele, Chief Zadious Adewale Ahmed urged citizens to contribute meaningfully to the development of the town while the Mother of the Day, Yeye Oge, Linda Kuyoro Adebambo, an indigene of Ikala, expressed delight with the organisation of the Day adding that the celebration will transform Ikala.
Colourful cultural displays were displayed by indigenous groups like Epa, Okooro and Ajani as well as juveniles, while the dignitaries delightfully respondedtotheanniversary dance in their colorful community chosen dress.
The youths inclusion in the community activities also brought about Youth Carnival with tumultuous youths attending the event from within and the neighbourhoods.
