The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council has constituted a five-M
man Credentials Screening Committee for its Triennial Delegate Conference Slated for October 31st, 2024.
A statement by the Council’s Secretary, Comrade Ogio Ipigansi noted that the Committee was inaugurated during its last emergency Congress held on September 19, 2024 at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa.
The statement disclosed that Mr. Yola Amieyefa, Deputy Director in the Ministry of Information, Strategy and Orientation is to serve as Chairman of the Committee while Madam Peace Sinclair, Editor New Waves Newspapers is to serve as the Secretary.
Other members of the Committee are Madam Grace Orumieyefa of Radio Bayelsa Chapel, Mr. Ebibaide Miebaikedo of Assembly Chapel and Mr. Bassey Willie of the Federated Correspondent Chapel.
The statement further said the Committee is charged with the responsibility to conduct free, credible and fair election in the state council.
