From Khalid Idris Doya, Bauchi

The Senator representing Bauchi South, Shehu Buba Umar, has called for closer collaboration between traditional rulers and political leaders to enhance security and foster development across the constituency.

Senator Buba made the call on Saturday during a visit to the newly created emirates recently established by the Bauchi State Government. The visit, he said, was aimed at reaffirming his support and loyalty to the new Emirs while seeking their cooperation in addressing emerging challenges.

Speaking at the Lamido of Toro’s Palace, the Senator commended the existing cordial relationship between his office and the traditional institutions, noting that their partnership had helped in addressing issues such as minor kidnappings and other security threats.

“Now that the responsibilities have increased, there is a greater need for us to unite and strengthen our cooperation to ensure lasting security and meaningful development,” Buba stated.

He congratulated the new Emirs and prayed for Allah’s guidance as they discharge their leadership duties for the peace and progress of Bauchi South and the state at large.

Among the traditional rulers visited were Alhaji Umar Adamu, Emir of Toro and Lamido of Toro; Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, Emir of Lame; Alhaji Nura Adamu Jumba, Emir of Lere; and Alhaji Sulaiman Bala Sulaiman, Emir of Jama’a and Emir of Bununu Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan.

In their separate remarks, the Emirs expressed appreciation for the Senator’s visit and pledged their commitment to work with all stakeholders to promote peace, security, and socio-economic development.

The Emir of Toro, Alhaji Umar Adamu, described the visit as a demonstration of respect and partnership, while the Emir of Lame, Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, reaffirmed the readiness of traditional rulers to support government efforts in improving security and development across their domains.
