Former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has been hosting top politicians at his Abuja residence following the death of his mother.
El-Rufai’s mother, who has been battling old age-related ailments, died in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday.
Shortly after, the former governor was released from custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), where he had been in detention for over a month.
The former Kaduna governor had returned home, where he reportedly told his associates how he completed the Holy Quran and read 10 books in detention.
Key politicians who have commiserated with El-Rufai include Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina; former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; former Ministers Rotimi Amaechi and Abubakar Malami, among others.
Others who visited El-Rufai in his Abuja residence on condolence visits are Senator Aminu Tambuwal; former Speaker Yakubu Dogara; Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination.
