…calls on President Tinubu to urgently sign bill to law
A socio-cultural group, Ijebu Descendants Union (IDU) has commended the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and other Senators from the South-West on the successful passage of the South-West Development Commission bill by the Senate on Thursday.
The IDU also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to urgently sign the Bill into law to enable the Commission to take off for the good and overall benefits of the entire people of the South-West states.
Daniel, who is a former governor of Ogun State, sponsored the Bill and was supported by all the other Senators from all the South-West states.
The IDU, which also praised the other South-West Senators, expressed delight at the development, noting the passage of the Bill would raise the standard of living of people of the geo-political zone “while ensuring rapid transformation of the entire South West region of Nigeria.”
The group, in a statement on Thursday signed by its National President, Prince Taiwo Nodiru, added, “Undoubtedly, posterity will be kind to all our distinguished Senators of this 10th National Assembly from Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states, respectively. Kudos to you all.”

The Ijebu Descendants Union (IDU) is a socio-cultural body of eminent and progress minded Ijebu Sons and Daughters spread all over Nigeria and across the globe.
It gladdens our hearts to receive the good news of the passage of the much expected South West Development Commission, a bill sponsored by His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District and jointly supported by all other distinguished Senators from the South West.
We therefore find it very essential to commend the wonderful efforts of the Lead Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) and others for this great job geared towards raising the standard of living of our people while ensuring rapid transformation of the entire South West region of Nigeria.
Undoubtedly, posterity will be kind to all our distinguished Senators of this 10th National Assembly from Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states respectively. Kudos to you all.
Similarly, we hereby call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of necessity sign this approved bill of the South West Development Commission into law without delay.
We are confident that President Tinubu as the Father of the Nation who is working very hard to raise the living standard of Nigerians will quickly do the needful by signing the South West Development Commission bill into law.
The South West Development Commission after the presidential assent and upon the official takeoff will guarantee special and additional budgets to take care of the needs of the good people of the western part of Nigeria.
Additional employment opportunities shall also be available for our teeming unemployed / underemployed youth and individuals.
More Federal presence shall also be witnessed across the length and breath of the entire South West among many other benefits.
We hereby congratulate Senator Daniel and others for this wonderful achievements while also congratulating the entire Sons and Daughters as well as all the residents of the South Western part of Nigeria.
