In PortHarcourt, the state capital, and its environs, normal activities had returned with residents going peacefully about their businesses.
But the Administrator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to take charge of the affairs of the state for the next six months, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), had yet to assume office as of Wednesday afternoon.
Preparations were however at top gear at the Rivers State Government House to receive the sole Administrator.
