Senator Ahmad Abubakar MoAllahyidi, the convener of Arewa New Agenda, an apolitical, non-religious, and detribalized group, has charged over 500 Adamawa State citizens on entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, first aid training, disaster relief operations, self-security tips on early warning, Islamic education, health in relation to personal hygiene, midwife, and moral training.
MoAllahyidi, who is a passionate human capital development enthusiast, addressed the mammoth gathering as the distinguished Chairman of the Occasion during a five-day State campaign to close the Ceremony of 2024/1446 AH organised by the Nigeria Aid Group of Islam (JNI) held at the Federal Government College, Ganye.
The Sunday program by JNI brought in participants from all the twenty-one local government areas of Adamawa, numbering over 500, who were schooled in different contemporary issues of security, business, health, and education. MoAllahyidi got the opportunity to charge the participants to be self-reliant as the only viable option to avert the current economic downturns that are pushing people to face precarious hardships.
MoAllahyidi, while thanking the organizers of the event, called on the participants to engage in modern farming and adopt technology-driven techniques by using modern fertilizers, improved seeds, and inputs. He emphasized the need for skills acquisition and entrepreneurship, revealing that Arewa New Agenda will soon organize a program in conjunction with the Adamawa State Muslim Council and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that will train participants on modern farming by using modern agricultural technology in livestock production and mining.
The guest of honor, HRH Gangwari Ganye Alh. (Dr.) Umaru Adamu Sanda OON, while delivering his speech, called on participants and the entire people of Adamawa State to fear Allah and obey the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in respecting elders and constituted authorities. According to him, when sound teachings and doctrines of Islam are well followed, it will bring about harmony and peaceful coexistence not only in Adamawa State but for the entire nation.
The respected monarch appreciated the Nigeria Aid Group of Islam (JNI) leadership for giving Ganye the privilege to host this year’s campaign and requested an inclusion of parade drills, competition with unique awards in the next event, as it can well engage youngsters to indulge in social vices such as drug abuse and other related crimes.
During the event, the paramount ruler presented awards to some proud sons and daughters of Ganye Chiefdom. Hon Adamu Atiku Abubakar, Sardaunan Ganye, Commissioner of Works and Energy Development, bagged the award for his love of people and service to humanity.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Chairman of the Nigeria Aid Group of Islam (JNI), also the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Adamawa State, Malam Gambo Jika, said the essence of this year’s campaign is to liberate people from the crutches of poverty caused by economic meltdown.
