Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi as the next governor of Lagos State.
Olawande said Seyi Tinubu is well-qualified to govern Lagos State.
The minister stated this while featuring on the Mic On podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, in his attempt to address the growing rumours surrounding Seyi’s potential run for governor of Lagos State in 2027.
The Minister of noted that Seyi was a committed individual with a proven track record of assisting the youths before his father was elected President.
Olawande said, “He’s not too young to become a governor.
“Seyi is not the one engineering the campaign to become the next governor of Lagos State.”
Already, groups like the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, among others have endorsed Seyi Tinubu to replace Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2027.
Meanwhile, lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly, on Monday, impeached Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker.
Obasa’s sack by the lawmakers has been linked to his alleged 2027 governorship ambition.
